Hi all, one question in my mind. I have constructed a PID controller. Can i safely assume that by setting the Kd=0 in my PID controller, i get the response of a PI controller? Thanks.
Correct. In fact in many process control loop applications the D mode is not used. It's mostly used with temperature control loops where the 'process lag' is slow and overshoot difficult to manage without the D.
