Pins 0, 1 and 13

I have a problem I guess a lot of people eventually run into: I need more pins!

I know that pin 13 is for the "control LED" and that pins 0 and 1 are used as a serial connection between two boards, but can I turn all this off and use all the pins as normal digital inputs/outputs?

Hej Melvin,

the answer to your question is:

a) pin 13 is no problem at all, you can use it, just stick out your LED

b) pins 0 and 1, you can use them, but them you will not be able of communicating back to the computer

If you just need more inputs, you could use the analog inputs as if they were digital inputs, whenever you get a number bigger than 1000, then the pin is HIGH ;-)
