I need some 2 x 12P female DuPont 2mm pitch connectors for my project. I got hold of the housings and thought I could use the female pins I've been using for the 2.54mm/0.1" pitch DuPont connectors, but they seem to be too large. I am struggling to source pins for 2mm pitch. Could anybody point me to a source for these?
You can try HERE
which is Molexkits.com.
You need to consult the manufacturer's documentation - somewhere they will specify the part number of the matching pins. You need to find that documentation; we can't tell you what kind of pins you need, because we don't know what kind of connector you have (ie, manufacturer's part number).
There are a hell of a lot of connector types, many of them very similar - as in you'll only realize they're not the same when they don't quite fit. And to make matters worse, people usually call them by the name of a manufacturer - who makes dozens or hundreds of types of connectors!
Hmmm. It obviously a jungle out there and I'm a noob. Bought a bag of 2x12P housings on eBay. Got no documentation... Finally found some female crimps on AliExpress when using suggested search words from another thread here. Since they were just a few USD I opted for 'trial and error' and just ordered them Worst case is soldering but it is the header pins on 2 fairly expensive GPS RTK cards so I hope to avoid that. Thanks for the link which I'll probably use for sourcing some other connectors I need.
How about soldering the cables to a female pin header. those are easy to find.
That's a good tip. Found them easily. Will order a few of those as well. Thanks!
