Good point, this is something I was thinking about, I will replace the LDR with photo diode for better response and top of that my sketch will include to look for peak amplitude of photodiode's response and will discard any responses below the peak amplitude. And I can adjust the sketch to look for the optimal amplitude peak of the photo diode.
