PIR Sensor

As part of a new project I am working on I would like a robot to head toward humans or pets. Would it be possible to blinker a PIR sensor so it only sees forwards (rather then 180 deg) and mount it on top of a servo.

Then rather than the human moving to set of the PIR, the movement of the PIR across the body heat of the human would set it off.

Not sure if it would be set of by the apparent movement of other heat sources such as lamps or TV's etc.

Thanks
Simon

Yes, a carton tube around it should do the trick, play around with the length of it to make it just right.
