Pitch to Voltage conversion?

Hi...

This is not necessarily arduino specific, though it is possible that the board alone is capable of processing this information for me:

I'm wondering if anyone here can recommend, or put me on the trail of, a pitch-to-voltage converter. I'm having trouble finding anything very useful in my search thusfar. Essentially I am looking to control different motors depending on a range of pitches that it will be 'listening' for. I just have to find the right tools to properly sense this data.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated!

LM567 is a tone decoder ship that detects a certain frequency;

LM2917 does frequency to voltage conversion.. see this post ;

musicians use pitch followers all the time, check that out, although it is more of whole-box solution.
