PJON v9 - Software emulated, multi-media, network protocol

Ciao! Today we released PJON v9: GitHub - gioblu/PJON: PJON (Padded Jittering Operative Network) is an experimental, arduino-compatible, multi-master, multi-media network protocol.

PJON (Padded Jittering Operative Network) is an Arduino compatible, multi-master, multi-media communications bus system. It proposes a Standard, it is designed as a framework and implements a totally software emulated network protocol stack that can be easily cross-compiled on many architectures like ATtiny, ATmega, ESP8266, Teensy, Raspberry Pi, Linux and Windows x86 machines. It is a valid tool to quickly and comprehensibly build a network of devices. Visit wiki and documentation to know more about the PJON Standard.

It is really useful in applications where many arduino compatible devices needs to communicate with each other or with a real time operative system without the need of the standard network protocol stack (WiFi, Ethernet) together with its vulnerabilities, where is not absolutely necessary

It proposes also 4 new data link specifications:

  • PJDL single wire multi-master data-link up to 50 meters
  • PJDLR ASK/FSK/OOK cheap radio transceivers multi-master data-link up to 5km range
  • PJDLS wireless LED communication 1528B/s up to 6m range
  • TSDL multi-master byte stuffed serial data-link

What do you think about it?
