placing a string an a 2D array.

ok, so L-OS 1.0 works and all, and now version 2 is being made. this one features a screen of text, to send out to the tellymate, witch acts as a real big LCD (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9313) and use text-based graphics, and a LGL(Laurens-Graphics-Libary). it basicaly simulates the ANDEX redstone GPU, with additions of lines witch go in eny direction (using slope intercept).

1 problem,I need to add text.

some specs on how this works: it uses a 2D char array, the size is set to the size of the tellymate. I need to be able to enter a string of text in this array, with the vars being (string text, byte X,byte Y) so that means, every char needs to be removed from the string and put in its relative position in the array.

how whud I do that?

with the vars being (string text, byte X,byte Y)

string is not a data type. Do you mean "string" as in NULL-terminated array of char or String as in an instance of the String class.

In either case, you need to extract one character at a time from the input and store it in the array to be overwritten. For loops are great for that.

I meant String. stupid shift button/ me constantly forgetting that random capital. well, that is what I need to do, how to extract the chars and to know how big a string is for the for loop

to know how big a string is

how to extract the chars
