Play sound using MP3 Shield

Can MP3 shield play a sound just only when it reaches the threshold level of sound, such as 80dB? How it can be done?

Another input on the uC is used to sense the sound level input, and make a decision as to whether the MP3 shield is commanded to do something or not.

What is the threshold level of sound?
A dB number is meaningless without a reframe point. Do you mean dBm?
