Please help identify the connector (coffee machine water sensor project)

The pitch is about 1.2 - 1.25mm. Black part has letters HF and HR

  • Guess this is one of the JST connector versions.

  • When I interface with other PCBs, I replace the original connectors with stuff like these (I like making my own but you can buy ready made).

Micro JST PH 2.0 2P 3P 4P 5P 6PIN

Thanks, but I need to match these so that I can unplug the original and plug my board in between, so it has to have male and female connectors matching these.

Looks like a molex connector to me.

Only a 7 pin version.

Looks like a very specific connector, neither Molex nor JST, I'm losing hope

possibly Hirose? They've got some odd stuff.

Promising but no match either

Hi, @killzone_kid

Leave the connection to the PCB and add your own 7 pin socket and plug in the lead, then your addon device will use your 7 pin connector.

That way you are swapping at a connector combo that you can replace if you damage one of them.

Tom.. :+1: :coffee: :australia:

I was considering to use 1mm headers male and female to plug my device in between. The situation is following: I bought a second hand coffee machine in very good condition, no warranty because of that so I have already opened it to investigate.

It lacks water sensor, which I can easily mod in rather neatly and programming port provides 3.2v. It is the easiest hack to get power needed, so I thought if I can find matching connectors I can write easy to follow guide.

Alternatively Im going to drill two holes in programming interface board and install a jst for power to my board and my beautiful hack will selfishly serve just me.

Correction 1.2-1.25mm pitch. I bought JST SH1.0 9pin and took the 1st and 9th pin out and boom, it didn't fit because it is not 1mm. Measured again, looks like 1.2-1.25

It could be 1.27mm = 0.05".

no, it is 1.25 or less, thought it was 1.2 but it looks like maybe 1.25, I will get 1.25 JST and try

Found it! https://cjt.com/up/A1255WRA-S-XP_dwg.pdf

Apparently 7 pin connector is quite rare, I could not find exactly the conector I need with the hole for the lock, but I think I can modify the hole-less one, which I ordered from half-working chinese website. Fingers crossed...

While I'm waiting might as well mock up the circuit so I can send it to PCB assembly

Soooooooo.... the connector arrived, it is 99.9% match, good enough for me. JLCPCB dont have 7 pin version so I will hand solder it myself. Everything else including reed switches they have so the project is a go! (thinking of maybe making a separate thread as someone else might want to join)

Found exact match, not in stock but can be preordered https://wmsc.lcsc.com/wmsc/upload/file/pdf/v2/lcsc/2304140030_HR-Joint-Tech-Elec-A1253WRA-S-07PD01_C465206.pdf
