I'm trying to repair/reverse engineer 32x16 flip-dot display (by Hanover).
There are 2 ICs that I couldn't identify yet, they marked as:
HC75 and HC139 (url to image)
Also I know that each flip-dot's magnetic coil supposed to have diode, but I'm a little confused that these (on the image above) have 3 pins which can be ok for SMD diodes, but all 3 are connected!
There's one for each flip-dot. Are these diodes or something else? They have JE markings on them...
DrAzzy:
I think the sot23 packages are fets or transistors - though I've also seen dual diodes in packages like that.
The others look like 74hc75 and 74hc139
Thank you!
I just cross referenced SOT23 and JE markings and I'm sure it's BAV99 dual diode!!!
It does test like dual diode! That helped me a lot, I already found bad one on the board that was causing one flip dot not to flip. I re-soldered it from another dot and it works now!
