PLEASE PLEASE COULD SOME ONE HELP ME!!!!

hi guys im busy with a project
my goal its to wined string onto to a spool.
I'm using a stepper motor so i can control how many Revolutions it must turn to wined in say 60 meters of string. the string will go around a wheel witch has a optical counter on it so it can measure how many meters have gone past
so i need two buttons that when i push one of them the stepper will start turning and count the the optical censor until it has done 50 so count then stop the other button will do the same but do 100 counts and then stop

im using a easy drive to control the stepper any help or ideas would be very appreciated :slight_smile:

if you're using a stepper, why do you need an optical encoder as well?
you know how many steps you've taken - just count them!

Take your best shot at writing some code. Mistakes will be criticized and forgiven, but even horribly buggy code will provide (at least) clues as to how to respond helpfully.
