I hope the mods will sticky this somewhere approprate. I just got into Arduino and these are the questions I had, and the answers I found.

There are sooo many models of the Arduino. Which one should I get? Yes, you will see lots of models mentioned here and there, it can be very confusing. Many of the models are older, no longer available, or built for specialized use.

If you are just getting into Arduino, don't worry about the different models. Simply purchase "the latest version" (Uno as of this writing), or any of the many "starter kits" available (see farther down this post for info on starter kits).

For those of you (like me) who insist on knowing the details of all the models, a detailed list and description of the current Arduino models is here: http://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Hardware

A detailed list and description of the older Arduino models is here: http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Boards

What Starter Kit should I get? Aaron Eiche does a fabulous job of reviewing pretty much all the kits on the market. Note: in Aaron's reviews, some of the kits are listed as having older boards. Almost certianly you can bet all the kits reviewed now ship with the current board. Also, there may be other starter kits available that are not mentioned in Aaron's articles. If so, post them as a reply to this and I will edit the original post.

For those of us (like me) with ADD, just scroll down to the "conclusion" part of his reviews.

Part I of his reviews: http://aaroneiche.com/2009/06/29/arduino-starter-rundown/ Part II of his reviews: http://aaroneiche.com/2009/07/16/arduino-starter-rundown-part-2/

So, I ordered my board or starter kit, but I'm completely geeked out about Arduino and I can't wait I want to see/do/learn some stuff RIGHT NOW OMG. Until your board or kit arrives in the mail, read these:

http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/Introduction http://www.ladyada.net/learn/arduino/ http://www.earthshineelectronics.com/files/ASKManualRev4.pdf

Based on your OS, read these: http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windows http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/MacOSX http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Learning/Linux

watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeScmRwzQho

Also, just surf these forums and the main site (www.arduino.cc) for stuff that jumps out as interesting to you.

I hope the mods will sticky this somewhere approprate

Not gonna happen. Stickies just don't happen here.

This thread will most likely just get lost with all the others from people who have tried this.

Using correct english in the request (and title in general) is definitly advisable. Using incorrect (or as some coin it, 'raped') english will only get your posts / topics ignored.

Besides, I'm confident in saying that too many people would simply ignore it... its a common thing on all sorts of fora.
