But arduino editor states:
No Plugin Connection. Uploading is disabled until you reconnect.

any ideas anyone?

The CHROME OS is not yet supported for the plugin.

You can however log into CREATE and create a sketch and save it with ANDROID based devices to upload later on a host that runs and of the following three.

Windows Linux Mac OS

What you are doing is running an instance of linux as a second layer to the chrome os and I doubt that it will work as intended. You could try using SUDO to drop in the plugin but there is zero guarantee it will work.

Take a look at some of the linux based posts in here to see if they offer any clues.

Windows here so only giving you what I have seen on my travels through this section.

Hi @dysan, we are sorry but we never tested Crouton linux so we don't know how to help, let us know if you can make it work!

Hi, I'm having the same issue described by the OP.

I'm running Ubuntu

The plugin looks normal, even reinstalled and the web procedure said I was good to go, but the yellow message saying there is no Plugin still appears.

Using latest firefox on Ubuntu 16.4 LTS

Please advice what could I do?
