Hi all
Anyone know how to install the plugin on a mac so ALL users on the mac can use the plugin? Trying to use arduino create with a class of students

@lccc please don't double / cross post as it can waste peoples efforts to resolve a question.
Guess that where the term newbie comes from - sorry
Hi @lccc,
have you tried to install the plugin yet, and you are experiencing issues? It should work for other users too if you install it as administrator
hi @smellai
yes the plugin was installed as admin and when logged on to the mac as admin Arduino C works fine. When logged on to the mac as another user it does not work.
I have tried this acros 3-4 diff macs.
many thanks

Hi @lccc,
I have split the topic so it is a bit more searchable for others as well.
As any non-native software you need to install the Create Plugin for every user you create on your Mac.
The plugin can be shared across different Arduino users (with specific Arduino IDs) logging in the same Mac Profile.
In your case you will need each student to login to their Mac user and run the install plugin setup.
Hope this answer your question. Let me know if we can help with anything
Instead of opening a duplicate topic, I decided to ask here. Has anyone considered working on modifying the installer to work for all users instead of just the local user? In a classroom/lab environment, this installation method doesn't work, as the students do not have administrator privileges.
There's no way I'm going to authenticate hundreds of users by hand.
This is great for an individual environment - I have it installed on my personal computer - but in its current form, it's useless for schools. Such a pity.

Issue has been discussed apparently but I cannot give any more than that I am afraid but clearly it is on the teams radar / to-do list.
