Adding symlink failed. Hope that's OK. If not then rerun as root with sudo.

As POP Linux is a Ubuntu based version, I thought it would work, anyone who might have a solution?

I don't know what the cause of this error is, but keep in mind this is only setting file associations. The Arduino IDE will work just fine even without this. You really only need to extract the download and run arduino.

Fantastic, was getting a bit sad when it gave men an error msg.
