port goes missing when i connect neopixel to arduino

So i am super new to this so i could be doing something totally dumb, but the port is available when nothing is connected to the arduino but as soon as i connect my addressable led strip the port disappears

Ive tried connecting it the lights into the arduino and also via a bread board but still loosing the port

How are you powering the LED strip?

Which pin(s) on your Arduino is the strip connected to?

Adding to that, you can power 6 to 8 neopixels max. at the same time directly on full white from an Uno's 5V; bit less with e.g. a Nano.
