Hi! The port option in the tools is grayed out (arduino 1.8.19) and i dont know how to fix it. It has been like this since april but I have only found the time to fix it now. Can somebody please let me know how to fix this? By the way, my laptop is running on Windows 11, and my Arduino Uno board is not a clone. Thanks
A greyed out port option usually indicates that the operating system does not recognise the board. So the first question is if Windows device manager still shows the board without errors?
What is the history of the board? Did it ever work? If yes, what was involved in the last project that you did upload successfully in the past? Is that project still working?
Have you checked the 5V and 3.3V voltages on the board?
Did you maybe install the STM32 core? Their latest version is not compatible with the old IDE anymore, so you need to downgrade to 2.7.1 to get your COM port back.
