Port is greyed out and device manager Unknown usb device

I am trying to get this working no matter what I try. I have reinstalled IDE, and still not working.

This is with Windows 10.

When I plug the device in ESP8266, it flashes once green and thats it. The exact error in device manager: Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed).

I am not sure what to do to fix this. Please help. Looks like its the CH340 which I installed the drivers for, but still no go.

That does no make sense. I think of an ESP8266 as a tiny 16x24mm board.
For starters, tell us exactly what you have.
