Hi,
I have a Portenta H7 mounted on a Breakout, if I use the USB connection to power the Portenta everything is fine but when I connect +5V to the green screw connector the controller shuts down until I remove the external power supply.
I stopped to do some testing so as not to burn something out.
Does anyone know of this behaviour?

I replicated the test with the Blink sketch example uploaded to a Portenta H7 mounted on Portenta Breakout. By connecting a USB C cable to the Portenta H7, then a 5V power supply to the Breakout, then the two connections together, no issues were noted.
Please check the voltage of your power supply and if the Portenta H7 is properly attached to the breakout via its HD connectors. Likewise, check your code.
