Portenta x8 with linux libraries?

Hi,

so for my project I want to do wifi packet scanning by either scan the RF signal, demodulate and decoded it into packets or using certain wifi chips to passively sniffing the wifi packet.

the hardware I was thinking for using are hackRF one SDR for RF scanning and using gnuradio libraries for RF signal demodualtion and decoding.

another way I was thinking of doing is using some other type of wifi chips that supports passive wifi scanning for scanning certain wifi packets.

I was wondering if someone with beginner level of linux and embedded, could x8 be done with it and how much a hurdle using x8 (in time and efforts)for these comparing to maybe a full on linux machine like raberry pi?

This is an Arduino forum, I doubt any Linux stuff will work with these boards.

Your doubts can be resolved by taking a moment to read the documentation for the Portenta X8 board:

https://docs.arduino.cc/hardware/portenta-x8/

Portenta X8 offers the best of two approaches: flexibility of usage with Linux combined with real-time applications through the Arduino environment. The board comes with a Linux OS (Yocto) distribution, already preloaded onboard.

I assumed the OP did that.

My previous reply isn't about OP. It is intended to direct you, @sonofcy, to information about the Portenta X8 that will allow you to resolve your doubts about this distinctive board, and thus be better equipped to effectively help Portenta X8 users.
