Possible hacking old sharp calculator with printer?

Hi there folks. I fund this old sharp el-1801l calculator in my basement. I was thinking if it would be possible to kook it up to arduino and "slave" that printer to print any character I want. Do you have any suggestions how to analyse how that piece of old electronic communicating with that printer head? There are some 8 pins?

Thx :wink:

It is possible with some reverse engineering, clever code and some darlington drivers for the motor and solenoid.

If you google the ALPS partnumber on the printing mechanism, you will find something.

// Per.

I found this: HTTP 301 This page has been moved

But I'm not very clever from that :frowning:

Or I don't mind if I'll have to use current pcb. My plans don't have to be small but I have problem with that "touch pads". I figured out that certain pins generates numbers but I wasn't able to connect it to Arduino. I mean, can Arduino simulate touch? in worst case? :confused: any ideas?
