This is my first post since I have been experimenting with the arduino platform. I haven't had any problems so far since online help is really great!
I have been using a 16x2 character parralel LCD screen for a few weeks - never had any problems - but al of a sudden it looks like this:

Could I have somehow permanently damaged the LCD by maken some wrong contacts? :-/
(What can't be seen in the image is that everything except for the "hello, world!" is flickering)
