Hello
Can I connect a 3 (2600 mAh) lithium ion battery with a 1 (TP4056) battery charging module? 3 batteries are connected in parallel line and these batteries are connected from positive to positive and from negative to negative ..... will TP4056 module be safe?
Thanks!
Hi @kesarsheth .
The TP4056 datasheet says it is for 1A.
On page 3 there is a table for the resistor Rprog depending on the
battery charging current.

So how many batteries can I connect with it?

Ok thank you
I believe you can put several batteries, what will change is the charging time.
Because the charging time of a battery depends on its charging current.
But you just told me that 4056 module Is of 1A. So how can we use a several batteries in it?
By setting the resistor Rprog, you control the maximum load current that will come out of TP4056.
So if you put several batteries, they will divide this chain between them.
The maximum that should come out of it is 1A.
In other words, the Rprog of 1K2.
You can, but it is not recommended. If you are doing it, make sure that the battery voltages are all exactly the same (otherwise, over a few charge/discharge cycles, the batteries can have a serious voltage difference and can be a very big fire hazard). There are two main ways I recommend doing this.
- Use a proper balance charger (BMS) aka Battery Management System
- Just use three TP4056 boards with switches in between that allow the boards to charge one battery each and the can be opened to let the power flow.
I definitely recommend no.2, but you can do your suggestion as long as the batteries have the same voltage, chemistry, and are not mixed matched
Thank you for this giving suggestions..![]()
