Power coupling sensors

Hi all, am using 15 IR sharp sensors on a Arduino mega and i am tweaking the circuit to fine-tune the signals. Some mentioned to use 100UF capacitors. Do i need to place 15 near the sensors ? Or is 1 enough....are there also any specific types i need to take in mind ?

And do i need to pull down the Analog inputs ?

cheers Ian

Yes, maybe, maybe not. That is as much help as your schematic, not a frizzy thing along with links to technical information on the hardware items and code postings.

Do post the part number of your specific sensor. That part number will also allow you to look up its datasheet which will tell you if external capacitors and/or resistors are needed, and other suggestions on their use.

In general, an analog output does not need a pull-up or pull-down - indeed it generally should not have one fitted at all, as you are likely to mess up the signal you are trying to measure. Of course the sensor and the Arduino must share grounds, as usual.
