Power-down safety net (Uno)

Hi all -

In a previous life I worked on machines which had a power-down saety net in that if someone pulled the plug (or a power cut!) the machine had a small reserve of power giving a few microseconds during which a routine could be triggered to e.g. store information to enable a power-up restart - the developer (me!) would write the routine to do what was required.

Does the Uno have a similar facility whereby I could write a routine that would be triggered by power-down?

Your machines had something the Arduino series do not have. That is a direct connection to the primary AC power. Arduino boards require either batteries or a separate DC power supply.

Can you design such a circuitry? Certainly.
