Power ESP01 from 12V supply

Hello everyone,

I have ESP01 and I want to turn 12V Led strip ON/OFF and I also want to design my own PCB, so problem is how to get 3v3 from 12V to power ESP and also should I use relay or mosfet as a switch. There is something like LM7805 which can give 5V from 12V and something like LM317T which gives 3v3 from 5V and its working correctly, also have tried to control mosfet and it's working. If someone has better option how to do that please write down below, point is to get small pcb and properly working device, also if someone knows how to prevent boot flickering, GPIO0 becomes high when esp boots.

There are any number of buck converters that will go 12V to 3.3V and will be more efficient (less wasted power/lower heat dissipation requirements) than the linear regulators.
