My LED strip has 5 meters, 60 LEDs/m. That makes it 300 LEDs

Each segment of 3 LEDs has a current draw of 20mA, so I assume it has a maximum(?) draw of 2A (100 segments * 20mA = 2000mA = 2A)
sidequestion: if the original power source is 12V 1A, how does it light up so bright? Shouldn't it be at half-bright?
