Power saving - soft latch

Hi!
I'm building an audio data logger powered by batteries and need to minimize power consumption. For redundancy, I’m using at least 2 SD card modules and want to control their connection to Vcc, even in deep sleep mode. Has anyone tried this before? All latching circuits I find require a switch. Is it possible to control this with the chip select signal?

Some circuits I find make the ground connection available, but I would like to ennable/disable Vcc instead.

  • Need to connect/disconnect SD Card modules from Vcc.
  • Keep the modules disconnected on sleep mode.
  • Share chip select with this control is desirable.

Here is a diagram showing how to do it. You replace the motor with your device and you do not need the fly back diode. They can be gotten for less then a buck US.
