Power supply for Arduino pro mini

Hi,

I own an arduino pro mini and i want to connect an external power supply to power my entire project but i dont know what the requirements are for the supply. I'm trying to connect a DC power supply not a power bank. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be done?

Check the specifications for Your circuitry to avoid toasting things. Projects handled by amatoers circulate as Projects where absolute maximum ratings are exceeded.
Google on "Arduino pro mini".... and technical data.

I have a device that uses a pro mini, with 3 aaa batteries hooked to VCC and GND. As long as the voltage is < 5.5, hook it to VCC. If it’s > 6, then hook it to RAW. A 3.3 volt mini will work on 5 volts, but will run at 8 MHz rather than 16 MHz. A 5 volt mini may not run on 3.3 volts, because it always runs at 16MHz.

It depends on the 'project', but you have not provided any details.
