Hi, I want to put 12V WS2811 5050 RGB LED strips behind my 65" TV, and use a Arduino Nano and the Android Ambilight aplication on a Nvidia Shield to make a Ambilight setup.. But i need some help calculating the Power Supply and have some questions.
My setup will be like this:
LED from Ebay: WS2811 5050 RGB LED Strip 1m/5M 150 300Leds Addressable (1IC 3leds ) DC12V
Android Ambilight aplication:
TV: 65" : 65" (H:1M L:1,32M) .. Total 4,64M around the TV..
Power Supply estimate:
4.6M60 LED per Meter: 276 LED total.. 276 LED 0.3W per LED = 82.2W Total 82.2W/12V = 6,85A
Power Supply Minimum: 12V, 90W, 7A . . Does that look correct?
Question1: My LED strips has 1 IC per 3 LED. Should i count the IC`s or the LEDs when i calculate the Power?
Question2: Is it enough to power the LEDs just on the front and back? or do i have to split up the LED strip and power at every corner to get the full color effect? How can i calculate the resistance in the strip?
Thank you, this is both my first Arduino and my first LED project, so hopefully somone can give me some pointes
