Power up arduino nano with mpu6050 sesnor and four servo motor at a time

ahhhh, i tried that, i used another 9v battery to connect the servos and i conneced a voltage regulator to 5v for servo, then i connected servo Vin and ground to the battery only and then i connected the signal wire to the arduino board. and i burnt my arduino nano. now what should i do? should i also connect ground from battery to the arduino? i mean servo ground will be connected to battery and aruino both? or only to battery ground what i already tried or to arduino ground? please clear a little i am just newbie with arduino.
