POWER UP SEQUENCE AND USB (DIECIMILLA)

Hello, I noticed that once the computer boots up and the USB gets recognized it resets the arduino board even when using external power.
I’ve not found info about it. Any way to avoid this?
Thanks.

Don’t reboot your PC.

actually i need arduino to do some tasks WHILE the attached computer boots. if arduino gets resetted is of NO use sadly :frowning:

So you will have to modify your board because it is meant to reset. Look at the schematics R2 & R3 need disconnecting from the reset line of the ATMEGA8 and connecting up to 5V instead. You probably need to put an external reset pushbutton to earth as well so you can reset it when you want.

thank you very much
I’ll post the results if we decide to do it that way

And if you tie R2,3 high, include a switch or jumper to change it to/from the original configuration, allowing you the option of reset/no reset when USB is connected.
