Hi soo Im trying to power a computer fan using my arduino. It's a 3 wire, 12V DC, .68A fan for a dell GX240 tower. Is it possible to power this from the arduino itself? Or do I need an external power source for the fan? Help pls
Arduino has no 12V power. You need a 12V AC adapter to power arduino and transistor (or motor control) to run the fan. The third pin is RPM sensing.
