Powering a motor driver with 12v power bank

Any reason i couldn't use something like this

10000mah Car Jumper

to power a A4988 Stepper Motor Driver which is driving a Nema 17 Stepper Motor 12V 0.4A (as well as arduino of course). Looks like i could butcher the jump leads to provide the 12v input to the driver.

Looks like the perfect portability solution for my timelapse rail project.

Do you trust this device to actually be 10Ah? I don’t. Why not get a proper battery from a reputable supplier?

MarkT, nice name... :)

I've been looking high and low for a 12v battery with a high mAH in the UK - has to be portable as im off hiking with an already relatively heavy rig. Being new to this, i dont know of any reputable supplier so it would be great if you could actually recommend something to me.

Is something like this more appropriate?

12v Battery pack http://www.safaridrives.co.uk/12v-dc-rechargeable-li-ion-battery-pack-black-case-6800mah-lithium-ion-uk/

Or would you recommend just 8AA batteries?

Or sealed lead-acid: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/vkv/Lucas-Mobility-Scooter-Battery-AGM-12v-10Ah/B002USEYK2
