I want to power an led via the phone's USB C port. Would i require to make the OTG connections in the USB C Male connector or would simply taking the + and - of the USB C connector to the led with a resistor be enough?
What makes you think power is available on a phone's USB port?
Obtaining power from a phone USB port is more complicated than you think. It cannot be achieved without a special IC that will talk to the phone. If it's an iphone it may not be possible at all.
