I want to power my arduino board using the Vin and Gnd pin in the POWER connector, but the power supply i want to use is 5V 1amp I was wondering if this is enough power for the arduino.
You haven't said what board you are using, but 1 amp at 5V will power any 5V arduino board

With a 5V power supply, you should connect to the 5V pin, not the Vin pin. The Vn pin needs at least 6.5V.
