Powering project with Raspberry pi and Arduino

Hey friends
I'm working on a mobile project that uses both RPI and Arduino, what is the better option for powering the system?

  • Enough 15 minutes of net operation
The options I am debating are:

  • Supply of power by a portable charger to RPI and from it a USB cable to Arduino that will also be used for communication.

  • Supply voltage separately to each of the devices and communicate between them by sending digital signals from the RPI to the Arduino via the pins.

I would like advices, thanks

Need more information before we can help:

  1. How far apart are they?
  2. What accessories are connected?
  3. What is the total power consumption?
  4. Define digital signals?
  5. What mobile system is the project connected to?
