Powering Water Pump from digital pins

Can I power a water pump rated at 3-5v and 100-200mA working current directly from the digital pins or do i need to use a transistor. I have tried google but there is a whole bundle of transistors and relay modules that is confusing me.

The I/O pins are “signals” and they can’t directly “power” anything other than an LED. The “absolute maximum” allowed from an I/O pin is 40mA and usually 20mA is the recommended maximum.
