Preppers - thumbs up or down

... magnetometers (in case the poles flip) .....

We all know that you Illuminati have your secret bunkers so don't come it with the 'I have nowhere to bug out to' line.

It was preppers concerned about the poles flipping that actually nudged me to make this post. Yes the poles have flipped in the past, yes they seem to going to do it again. However these folk had built a fortress and stocked it with enough food for over 20 people for 15 years!!!!! They also had transport and food a fuel caches to make it to a second location if need be, and of course they were well armed.

Their fear was that the pole flip would be sudden and result in land being displaced hundreds of miles by earthquakes - that is why I rank them with the flat earthers.

A lot of the prepper scene is dominated by marketing. I always laugh when I see their "bug-out bags" loaded down with so much junk they could hardly carry the thing...

.... I know one of the things the HAM radio people are into is providing emergency communications during a disaster.

There is a very big sales and marketing effort around this. You can get things like "Tactical Apocalypse Survival Kits". One item that really made me laugh was a very expensive windproof lighter whose " 'clean burn' technology means that synthetic materials can be melted without depositing black carbon which may discolour equipment". Yes the End of the World in upon you but you don't want to get soot on your designer survival kit. There was a person giving a bugout route a test who was really struggling with the amount of kit being carried.

The HAM radio people are okay it's more of a hobby. Of course a prepper needs a faraday cage to keep the radio in because of Electro-Magnetic Pulses.
