Preset position of a slider according to video timeframe

hello everyone,
need your help in a project where there is a slider controlled by dc motor and an encoder is used for position feedback. i want to move the slider as a video is going on in background. position of the slider is to be set according to the video.
for example. there is big screen where a video of a road is going on, and there is a car in front of that screen on the slider. car should move(on slider) according to the road movements on screen. hope so you guys understood.

Are there white lines on the road or anything that be picked up by a sensor so the motor knows how to follow.
What is your overall plan and have you started coding this yet ?

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Please tell how You intend to attack the different pieces, the recognition of movement in the video, calculating DC motor movement.

I think we're supposed to figure that out :grinning:

Divide the project into smaller parts and attack the parts.

no brother. there are no sensors i just want to map my pre-programed positions to video time frame. for example if i set 500mm distance from 0 on my slider at video time 50 seconds and then it will move and reach 100mm when the video playback time is 1 minute 20 second and so on... this all will be pre programed. now the challenging part for me is after all the programe is done and when play the video it should run simultaneously. and if i pause the video even our trolley should stop
