Printing different characters in arduino IDE terminal

Hi, I am using Arduino nano board. I connected to GPRS modem and its working fine. I am able to send and received data to/from server. But except the data i am sending and receiving remaining data is in other characters. AT commands and their response are in different characters.

I am using two serial ports (one is Softwareserial) and baudrate set to 9600.

What could be the reason? I set the GPRS baudrate to 9600 using AT+IPR=9600.

The GPRS modem is probably configured for 7bits with parity instead of 8bits without parity.

What is the default parity set in arduino serial port?

See Serial.begin() - Arduino Reference

"The default is 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit. "

Cheers!

i did that but still i am getting the same error

format: 8 data bits,no parity, one stop bit
parity: space(0)

The server side code may be flawed.

OK. Thank you.
Is there any AT command which will alert when the server sends a message to the GPRS modem?
