Pro mini for 3d led cube?

Using Arduino LEDs and Multiplexing

I was wondering if I can use a pro mini 5 v 16Mhz arduino for my 4x4x4 single colour led cube that I've already made.

I've tried it out and it doesn't seem to work but I'm not sure it it's my fault or the pro mini cannot be used. It's be great if you can assist.

Most people on the Web have used the uno r3 and for my first project... I'm a little confused

Pro Mini has the same uC as the Uno so I don't see a reason why you can't use it. But I don't have a crystal ball so I have no idea how you connected it...
