Pro Mirco as USB keyboard, send F1 character

Hi

I am new but want to program a Pro Micro to send an F1 character when an input is triggered. Normal charactes/letters work fine, I just can't get function keys to work.

sample of code

void loop()
{
if (digitalRead(buttonPin) == 0) // if the button goes low
{
Keyboard.write(0x70); // send a F1 in hex to the computer via Keyboard HID
delay(1000); // delay
}
}

Keyboard.press(KEY_F1);
Keyboard.releaseAll();

Sweet, Thank you.

Maybe you will need a small delay between the two calls.

More keys etc: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/KeyboardModifiers

F1 is NOT a character.
