I have a pro trinket 5v and would like to power it with a 4.8v nimh rechargeable 2000 mAH battery and don't know if this is possible if anyone could help that would be great thanks!
Should be plenty. Make sure you are not connecting to a pin where the power has to go thru a regulator first.
So should I put it through bat+ and ground?
SO should I connect one to ground then the other to bus or 5v it dosent really tell you if you have a power source under 5v (I have power source of 4.8v)

I don't see a problem driving the 5V pin with 4.8V, and the battery- to Gnd.
Maybe drive Vbat low to disable the regulator.
The '328P will work reliably down to ~ 3.8V at 16 MHz, below that, you may see some odd behavior.
So the 4.8v will work if I put black (-) to ground and the red wire to the 5v pin? Or do I have to do something with the vbat?
Leave Vbat disconnected.
So the black goes to gnd and red goes to 5v on trinket pro 5v.
Your 4.8V nominal NiMH battery will vary from about 5.3V (fully charged) to 4.5V (pretty much empty). It will work fine connected to the Trinket 5V pin.
Steve
so black wire to ground and red wire to 5v on the trinket?
or can i put black wire on gnd and other wire to bat+?
No Vbat will go thru the regulator. 4.8V into a 5V regulator will not regulate properly. Just connect 4.8V to the 5V pin.
Ok thanks!
