Make sure your spark plugs are the resistor type. Plugs with an internal resistor create less EMI.

You need to either keep the circuit well away from the cable, or else completely shield it in a metal
box with shielded cables. Car ignition cables are unshielded and thus a nightmare for interference.
[ Perhaps modern vehicles do have shielded cables these days, it would make a lot of sense ]
