Problem Connecting Arduino UNO to Elecrow Bluetooth Shield v2.0+EDR

Hello!

We are new to the forum and have tried installing the bluetooth shield v2.0 of Bluetooth Shield v1.0 - Elecrow

One green light of the bluetooth shield is flashing but for some reason, we can't connect our Mac OS X El Capitan to the Bluetooth. In fact, we can't see it on our Mac bluetooth preferences menu.

Appreciate any help !!

Thanks in advance,
Alan

When you read this "You can choose two pins from Arduino D0 to D7 as Software Serial Ports" you can be sure these people don't know what they are doing. Having said that, if the LED is flashing at about 2-3Hz, then that signifies power is on and it is ready to connect. This is not an arduino problem, all arduino does at this stage is provide the power - which it is doing. All the procedure for making the connection is done at the other end, and that is where all the problems lie.

The actual bluetooth module is a plain-vanilla HC-05. I understand OSX is quite OK with this. Even if it wasn't, I believe it would still make a connection.
