Problem installing driver

I just purchased an Arduino UNO board. When I go to the device manager and point to the 'Drivers' folder inside my Arduino folder it fails to install the driver. It tells me that it found the proper driver, but can't install anyway, and that I have to contact the support of the developer.

Can any of you smart guys/girls tell me what's wrong and even more important how to solve the problem?

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit

I have read the 'Driver' section of the troubleshooting guide and it didn't help me, as everything was as supposed.

Hope someone has the answer..?

Fernis,
I am having the same problem as you with installing the driver for my new Arduino Uno. I am using Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. I can navigate and point to the correct file but windows fails to install the driver and says "the system cannot find the file specified."

In the troubleshooting it mentions checking the registry for the RunOnce key, which is a known problem with XP. I figured it was worth a shot checking and the RunOnce key was present in my registry, so thats not the problem

Any help will be appreciated.

When you get a warning about missing signature, make sure you are selecting the option "Install Anyway" and not "Don't Install." "Install Anyway" is the 2nd option in the list and is not the default.

Installed with automatic are correct!

I tried the installer (which is great btw), but after it installed the drivers my computer still did not recognize the board. Any thoughts?

If the board does not appear in the devices even as a faulty one, the problem is more complex. Something with the serial chip of the board.

You need to search this forum for tests to figure what it is happening.

It is recognized as an unknown device. When I tried to update the driver manually it gave the same error "The system cannot find the file specified."
