Problem uploading projects to UNO

Using Arduino IDE 1.x

Hopefully some one on this forum can help me out. :frowning:

Projects will upload fine to my OSEPP Arduino UNO R3 when I use my Alienware laptop (running win7 & using Arduino 1.6.5), but when I try to use my other Dell laptop (running win7 & using Arduino 1.6.5) the 'port' selection is grey and not select-able. Obviously Its not the cable because I used the same one on both laptops, It cant be the usb ports because they all work on both of them and Ive tried them all. I updated the FTDI driver on both laptops and still only the Alienware works. I dont know what could be the problem anymore. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi! I have the same problem.

I uploaded the blink example to the board a few days ago, to test it, and today I was trying to upload a new program to the board but the "Tools > Port" option appears in grey, and not-selectable.

I am using the Arduino UNO R3 board, and the 1.6.5 Arduino IDE also. Help would be much appreciated.
