problem uploading to board

Hi! I'm an italian student in electronics and I have a problem with my new Arduino duemilanova board (windows XP).
When I try uploading the Blink example sketch, I get this error:

PROBLEM UPLOADING TO BOARD
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

Could someone help me?

I had a similar problem. I've selected the wrong board in the ide. If you have an atmega328, be sure you have selected "Arduino w/ ATMEGA328" not "Arduino Duemilanove".

I selected the wrong board, with ATMega328 works good!
